How to Use: For Sew-In Projects Cut Flexi-Firm according to the pattern piece or required project dimensions. Place the stabilizer against the wrong side of the exterior fabric. Baste the layers together inside the seam allowance when additional control is needed. Sew Flexi-Firm directly behind the exterior fabric or sandwich it between the exterior and lining fabrics. Use a heavier sewing-machine needle suited to the combined thickness of the materials. Sew slowly when approaching corners, intersections and areas containing multiple layers. Trim or grade bulky seam allowances when necessary. Turn, shape and finish the project according to the pattern instructions. HTC recommends using a heavier needle and sewing slowly through corners. For Freestanding Fabric Projects Cut matching pieces from Flexi-Firm, the exterior fabric and the lining. Layer the stabilizer between the two fabrics. Baste or secure the layers to prevent shifting. Stitch the project sections together according to the pattern. Clip or trim seam allowances around curves and corners as required. Turn the project carefully and shape the edges by hand. Topstitch where appropriate to define the edges and reinforce the structure.
